Wildlight wellness building holds milestone celebration

The UF Health Wildlight wellness building celebrated its midway construction milestone on Feb. 11, 2020, with a small ceremony and tour of the site. The facility will offer occupational, physical and speech therapy through UFHealth Rehabilitation Services, as well as a YMCA. In addition to UF Health Jacksonville representatives, attendees from the builder, Scherer Construction; the architect, Gresham Smith; the developer, Landmark Healthcare Facilities; and YMCA came together to sign a piece of drywall that will hang inside the structure near the front entrance.

Haley Jr., CEO of UF Health Jacksonville and dean of the UF College of Medicine – Jacksonville, spoke about the growth of the organization in Wildlight and the importance of supporting the healthy lifestyle culture of the community. Eric Mann, president and CEO of First Coast YMCA, spoke about the strong relationship of the two organizations and the exciting offering of these services in this area.

The building is scheduled to open early fall 2020.
